Ian Garry is going places.

Last night saw Ian Garry extend his record to 15-0 by overcoming Michael ‘Venom’ Page at UFC 303 in Las Vegas.

‘MVP’, renowned for his movement and dynamic style, posed a big test of Garry’s ability.

This fight demanded the Dubliner to navigate his way out of some tricky situations and make his moments count.

It wasn’t always easy but that’s exactly what he did, rising to the occasion with statement-making resilience and eventually earning himself a unanimous 29-28 victory.

Speaking to Joe Rogan in his post-fight interview ‘The Future’ said:

“I just want to let everyone know, I’m coming for that world title.

“15-0, undefeated, unstoppable.

“I don’t care who’s next, where it is, I’m gonna be a world champion.

“‘The Future’ is inevitable and I’m coming for that belt’.

Garry now has a 8-0 record in his UFC welterweight career and is poised for a contender fight next time out.

The methodical nature of the win over Page has left some experts – including Dana White – with questions over Garry’s full potential, however.

White told reporters that he felt the fight was a draw, but Garry’s grappling work swung the judges in his favour.

“I had that fight a draw,” he said. “If they came out and said that fight was a draw, that’s exactly what I thought that fight was too.

“Obviously Ian won the first round, MVP won the second round and it was 50/50 in the third round.”

“What was crazy was MVP had that top position and he gave it up.

“He could have just rode that thing out and won the round”.

You can only imagine Garry will cherish proving doubters wrong as he rolls on to the next stage of his UFC career.
