Iowa bested LSU on Monday night in perhaps the most highly anticipated women's basketball game in a long time. The Elite Eight matchup was a rematch of last year's championship game — and this time the results were in favor of the Hawkeyes' superstar Caitlin Clark.

Clark put on an absolute show Monday night, draining 41 points while commanding the Iowa offense.

While the game — final score 94-87 — was amazing, so was the response online. It was a great moment for women's basketball because the trash talk, memes, and jokes were about as prominent as any game you could imagine. You know a sport is seriously popular when people are getting too worked up about it online.

There were lots of posts about Clark, and that makes sense considering the game she played.

There were also some jokes about LSU and, in particular, Hailey Van Lith — a star in her own right — who, despite being much shorter than Clark, was tasked with guarding Iowa's best player.

Iowa moved on to the Final Four with the big win, where yet another formidable opponent awaits. Clark and the Hawkeyes will take on UConn, led by former Player of the Year Paige Bueckers, perhaps the only other player in the tournament as decorated as Clark. People are freaking excited for the matchup and have been posting about it online.
