The likes of Arsenal and Liverpool will be chasing Pep Guardiola's side, but just as fascinating will be the race for Champions League places, with more teams than ever before having designs on top-four finishes. Chelsea remain big-spending, Manchester United's latest rebuild continues and both Tottenham and Newcastle will expect improvements this year - yet it was Aston Villa who snared fourth last term.
Meanwhile, it's Southampton, Leicester City and Ipswich Town who made it back to the elite after promotion last year and each will have hope they can make it more than a one-year stay. Follow the latest live action from the Premier League below:
Everton pick up their first away win of the season with an impressive 2-0 win against Ipswich at Portman Road. A chaotic start led to both sides spurning glorious chances, with Clarke skying an effort from close-range and Calvert-Lewin being denied by goalkeeper Muric when through on goal. Everton took the lead after Ndiaye capitalised on a poor mistake from Burns to fire home. Ipswich thought they had found a way back into the match after Clarke was fouled in the penalty area, with referee Michael Oliver initially awarding the penalty. However, VAR overturned the decision after replays showed he had slipped and made contact with McNeil himself. Keane doubled the lead with a fantastic finish close to half-time, which ultimately knocked the stuffing out of Ipswich. The second half was a more measured affair, with neither side having many chances and Everton looking solid at the back. Sean Dyche's men generated an xG of 1.74 to Ipswich's 1.27. Ipswich are still without a league win and next travel to Brentford, while Everton host Fulham. Thank you and see you next time!
FULL-TIME: IPSWICH 0-2 EVERTON
In virtually the last action of the match, Harrison plays through Calvert-Lewin one-on-one with Muric but once again the keeper stands tall and saves well from the striker. He's had his chances in front of goal but the England international will not cap off an impressive performance with a goal.
Yellow Card Jack Henry Philip Taylor
We will have four additional minutes.
Taylor tries his luck from outide the box but his low-effort is comfortably saved by Pickford.
This has been a very impressive away performance from Everton. They've defended well, looked comfortable in and out of possession, while there have been lively moments going forward with the likes of Ndiaye, Calvert-Lewin and McNeil all impressing.
Woolfenden is adjudged to have fouled Calvert-Lewin in the air and Everton can now get up the pitch. Brilliant play from the Englishman to win the foul, he's led the line superbly for his side this afternoon.
Everton have attempted 350 passes in this game, their highest total in a single match in the Premier League this season.
McNeil performs his defensive duties to win the ball from Hutchinson and relieve some of the pressure on his side during the last few minutes.
