Punters are hoping this August will be the hottest on record.
After a rather wet and windy July, punters are hoping that the month will bring sunshine and scorching temperatures. Ladbrokes has announced the odds of 5/1 that August will be the hottest on record which will be a complete reverse of August 2023 which saw two large storms that caused flash flooding.
Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: "Despite a miserable summer so far, the sun is predicted to return to Ireland this August and record-breaking temperatures could be on the way!" Met Eireann has issued a long-range weather forecast for next month but remember forecasts beyond one week become increasingly uncertain due to the chaotic nature of the atmosphere.
