Met Eireann are warning of “heavy thundery showers” and lightning as prolonged rain is expected to hit the country.
However, the conditions shouldn’t last the entire week. Temperatures are forecast to soar overnight, with the latest models from WX Charts, a weather forecasting website, seeing them going from a maximum of 16 degrees today, 5 September, to 24 degrees on Friday, 6 September.
The national forecaster explained that Ireland should prepare for “warm and humid” conditions and “possible thundery showers” in their weather outlook.
