Weather conditions in Ireland are set for a sudden and "wild" change in the coming days, according to weather experts and forecasts.

Temperatures in Ireland and the UK are, or will be hitting seasonal records, well outside the norm for this time of the year and with records being shattered near Ireland.

Forecasters have expressed their concern over the eight-degree surplus over temperatures expected for this time of year, reaching over 16 degrees in the UK on Sunday with Ireland expected to hit the same peaks this week.

Managing Director at MEER.org, Peter Dynes was concerned over the record highs, advising that the forecast for southern England is expected to be around eight degrees higher than the seasonal norm.

"15°C in southern England tomorrow—just 4 weeks before Christmas. Most of England will be ~8°C above the seasonal norm. The wild climate swings we’re seeing will only intensify as the planet continues to warm."

"Widespread 16-17°C, locally 18°C max temps from SYNOP stations on this *checks calendar * late November day."

Peacock explained that the 16.5C seen in England on Sunday 24 November was new record - shattering the old one, set in 1980, by two whole degree.

Peacock told his following on social media: "Local date records have surely fallen widely. 16.6°C here in NE Dorset has shattered the old record (14.5°C in 1980) & is the latest above 15.8°C by a margin of 11 days."

According to weather experts there will be unseasonably warm weather in England but it will also affect Ireland.

Weather expert Daniel aka The Snow Dreamer shared an update that read: "Hate the cold? Well I have good news. 16C is achievable further southeast on Sunday although I’d add accompanied with a strong blustery southwesterly wind this weekend."

And Galway is set to enjoy some sun on Monday with Met Eireann forecasting some sunny spells, albeit in between some heavy rain and hail.

Met Eireann advised of isolated thunderstorms with oderate to fresh and gusty southwest to west winds which will ease to moderate by evening.

Sunny spells and scattered blustery showers tomorrow, some heavy with a chance of hail and isolated thunderstorms. Moderate to fresh and gusty southwest to west winds will ease moderate by evening.
