Power has been struggling with the injury since the Genesis Scottish Open – which he pulled out of after nine holes – and it plagued his Ryder Cup hopes in the latter half of the summer.

The two-time PGA TOUR winner played the Open Championship in Royal Liverpool after extensive physio work but missed the cut.

Power made his Irish Open debut in Mount Juliet last year and is the touring professional of the K Club, this week’s host venue.
