Married life with Rachel

When he met Rachel first, despite the instant connection, their relationship had a rocky start.

Isaac was already in a relationship, and Rachel was still recovering from her recent breakup. Shortly after their meeting, Isaac travelled abroad, not expected to return until after Rachel's course ended.

However, fate had other plans as he came back home just five months later.

Isaac, the son of renowned culinary figures Darina and Tim Allen, married Rachel in 1998 at Cloyne Cathedral in Cork, with their reception held at Ballymaloe House.

They were 27 and 26 years old, respectively.

The couple soon welcomed their first son, Joshua, a year after their wedding. Their family grew with the birth of their second son, Lucca, when Rachel was 30, and six years later, their daughter Scarlett completed the family.

Rachel has often spoken about her relationship with Isaac, sharing in an interview with RSVP Live: "I do count myself very lucky to be with a man who I adore and respect, we work so well together too. Isaac is so good at making sure we keep time for each other, even when the babies were little and I was still feeding, he would say, 'come on, let’s go out', even if it was just to have a glass of wine or something to eat.

"I suppose respect and keeping time for each other is important. But who really is qualified to talk about the perfect marriage."

When asked about date nights she added: "We’re good at that. Now, a date night can be just going for a pint of Guinness and having a chat.

"We love going for dinner. We often go to Ballymaloe, which is just down the road, for a delicious bite to eat and a glass of wine."

Family and successful children

Their son Lucca Allen has carved out a successful career in motorsport, attributing much of his success to the unwavering support of his parents.

Mum Rachel has said in the past: "The worry never goes away. I’m constantly praying to Dad to take care of him. I’m a bit ridiculous.

"I tend to look to the sky when I’m talking to him and I look out for little signs."

Now based in Kuwait and looking ahead to new opportunities, Lucca is contemplating his next move after testing with Mercedes and McLaren last year.

He also received an offer from Formula Three in Japan as reported by The Times earlier this year.

The past year has seen significant changes for Lucca, as he left his sales job in England where his girlfriend Jemima lives, to fully focus on racing, hoping to sustain himself financially through the sport.

Following his families footsteps he told RSVP Live last year: "I met her when she was doing a Ballymaloe cookery course. I thought I would move here [UK] instead of spending the year at home, so we both work in Jeremy’s farm shop together and it is great."

Jemima has become a cherished part of the family, as Rachel shared: "She’s a little dote. She gets to come here a lot because she gets on really well with Josh and Scarlett as well."

Joshua Allen has also pursued a path filled with risk and excitement, competing as an MMA fighter, showcasing the adventurous spirit that runs in the family.

Famous Mum

Isaac's mother, Darina Allen, is a culinary icon and the driving force behind the renowned Ballymaloe Cookery School in County Cork.

A lifelong advocate for the art of cooking and the promotion of quality, wholesome food, Darina instilled these values in Isaac from a young age, ensuring he grew up eating nutritious, well-prepared meals.

Speaking to RSVP Live she said: "I’ve always had fresh produce so luckily I married a farmer in the end!"

At 75, Darina attributes her enduring energy to her lifelong commitment to wholesome eating: "It has all stood to me, touch wood – I’m fortunate to have lots and lots of energy, and I’ll keep on going as long as my energy lasts."
