Rachel Allen's husband Isaac is declared bankrupt

Rachel Allen's husband Isaac has been declared bankrupt after being hit with a tax bill of €485,000.

The restauranteur, who has been married to the TV chef for 26 years, filed the bankruptcy petition in June, stating his debts exceeded his assets by around €365,000, per the Independent.

It came after the 52-year-old was reportedly advised that he wouldn't qualify for other personal insolvency solutions which would see his debts substantially written off.

Court filings revealed he has an income tax liability of around €485,000 and no other debts. His income was listed as €2,800 per month in the filing. Filings publically available online show that Mr Allen's bankruptcy status was adjudicated on Monday 22 July.

Mr Allen's most valuable asset was listed as a 50 per cent share in a field in Co Cork with his section being valued at €112,500. He also has a 2007 Audi TT listed to be worth €5,500 and a bank account containing €500.

Mr Allen has also listed a 50 per cent share in a company called Lehcar Limited, which he and Rachel co-own, but the company requested a voluntary strike-off in 2023.

The bankruptcy petition was approved by Mr Justice Liam Kennedy and Isaac has his home address as being a home in Shanagarry, which is owned by his mum Darina Allen.

Rachel and Isaac got married in 1998, at the age of 26, in front of their friends and family at Cloyne Cathedral in Cork and had their reception at Ballymaloe House.
