Saoirse spoke about her hubby Jack Lowden for the first time since they got married

Saoirse stars in the new drama feature film which is based on the story of a young girl who returns home to Scotland after some time in rehab for alcoholism.

Host Patrick Kielty revealed that Saoirse's husband Jack was the one who first introduced her to the story after he gave her the original memoir which the plot is based off of.

Jack and Saoirse went on to work together and produce the movie - becoming their first project as a couple.

When asked what it was like working alongside her partner on the film, Saoirse said: "It was great, I mean you know when you have a personal relationship with someone and you're also in the same field.

"You just respect one another and you've got the same taste and you just expect the best. To have that other person there believing in you but also pushing you is great.

"He was my eyes and ears when he was on set, he was able to keep an eye on what I was doing. Because so much of it was improv, to have Jack there to just say, 'You're going down the right path' or 'Don't do that'.

"It was great because I just completely trust him so it was a great experience."

The 30-year-old told a hilarious story about working on her Scottish accent for the film.

Saoirse explained how Jack, who is originally Scottish himself, did not hold back when it came to voicing his opinion.

The Carlow native said: "Well his accent is quite different to an Orcadian accent, the Orcadian accent is more Geordie it's mad.

"I basically tried it with a dialect coach and I remember Jack was downstairs and I was like, 'Hm I think this is going well'.

Saoirse began to laugh as she added: "And then she left and he came downstairs and was like, 'You're not doing that are you? Is that what you're going to do?"

The Oscar-nominated star made sure to back herself saying "it is very difficult to do that accent so".

LOVEBIRDS

Jack and Saoirse first met back in 2017 on the set of Mary Queen of Scots.

The pair played the part of husband and wife in the flick where Saoirse played Mary Stuart and Jack took the role of Lord Darnley.

The happy couple recently tied the knot in a private ceremony in Scotland.

Rumours of their engagement flew last July when Jack shared a photo from a group hike which pictured the Irish actress wearing an engagement ring.

It is reported that guests at the event were sworn to secrecy according to the Sunday Independent.
