When asked if it's difficult being married to another actor, Jack explained that it is a help rather than a hindrance.

"No, being with an actor is wonderful, because we understand each other. We're quite odd people, actors. We're strange animals," he told he Guardian.

"So it just makes complete sense, and I understand why there are loads of other actors with actors… And it's really useful for running lines, rather than with, like, your mum."

Does Jack find it hard to maintain privacy?

"I don't know," he replied. "I think I've been very lucky in that I've had quite a slow-building kind of career, and I've been allowed to grow up and get things wrong."

"I can't imagine what it must be like, if you're 18, 19 and you're in a huge show and all of a sudden everybody wants to know everything about you," he added.

The comments come after Saoirse and Jack's wedding, which took place in Scotland.

It was a low-key affair with only a "handful" of guests in attendance, the Sunday Independent reported at the time. The register of Scottish civil marriages records that Saoirse married Jack at the Central Registar's Office in Edinburgh.

Rumours swirled that the couple had gotten engaged last year when Jack posted a photo of a hand, which appeared to be Saoirse's wearing a diamond ring.

He previously spoke about his "remarkable" experience of working with Saoirse.

"The woman is a force of nature, on and off-screen, and utterly fearless and a brilliant leader as well," he told iNews.

"My first love is actors, and when you're given a Ferrari like her, it's all about how you make everything good for the Ferrari to show off. Don't make a Ferrari do what a Renault Clio does. It's a dreadful analogy, but they're like gold dust, good actors."

Saoirse responded to Jack's comments in an interview with Harper's Bazaar. She said: "When a person you respect as much as I do him says that, it means more than anyone else's opinion."

When asked if it was better than winning an Academy Award, Saoirse jokingly added: "Well, I mean, an Oscar would also help."
