Saoirse Ronan's husband open up about their relationship
Saoirse Ronan's new husband Jack Lowden reveals the sweet nickname he has for the Carlow actress as he speaks about her for the first time since their wedding.
The couple, who are notoriously private, tied the knot in a low-key secret wedding in Edinburgh in July, with all of their guests being sworn to secrecy at their Central Registrar's Office nuptials, to avoid publicity.
The 34-year-old referred to his long-time love as 'Sersh' in an interview with The Guardian.
He reflected on what it is like to work alongside the Lady Bird star on their latest film The Outrun, with the pair having met while acting together on Mary Queen of Scots in 2018.
The couple co-produced the upcoming film which is set to be released on 27 September, with Jack calling the experience 'amazing'.
'We would love to produce more stuff, but we’re taking a beat at the moment because acting is getting in the way', he explained.
Saoirse also stars in the movie, as Rona, a woman who is fresh out of rehab for alcohol addiction. The role has resulted in her being tipped for a possible Best Actress nod at the Oscars 2025, according to Variety.
Jack gushed about his wife's talent, saying: 'She’s utterly phenomenal. But then the madness of making an independent film is just… great fun and terrifying.'
The pair share a €2.8m home in Islington, north London, along with a terrier dog named Fran together. They certainly appear to be loved up, with the Scottish native detailing the close bond they share, due to their similar jobs.
'We’re quite odd people, actors. We’re strange animals. So it just makes complete sense, and I understand why there are loads of other actors with actors.'
