Comedian Joe Lycett reveals he's welcomed his first child

A huge congratulations are in order for British comedian Joe Lycett who shared the lovely news that he’s become a first time dad.

Alongside a sweet snap of himself cosied up with his newborn, Joe revealed that he had welcomed a bouncing baby boy and praised the hospital for welcoming him into the world ‘masterfully’.

Keeping his love life away from the public eye, Joe hasn’t confirmed who his son’s mum is yet, but did joke that they both loved the hospital’s ‘baked potatoes’.

In a heartwarming message on social media, the Taskmaster star, 36, penned:

‘An appreciation post from me for the extraordinary Birmingham’s Women’s hospital. My first encounter with them was years ago when they looked after a pal of mine through surgery, and then most recently when they masterfully welcomed a little boy into the world, who happens to be my son.’

Adding that ‘the care and compassion his mum and he received was exceptional’, he highlighted how much he valued and appreciated the antenatal classes, ‘incredible’ midwives, consultants, doctors, nurses and the ‘ongoing care in the community’.

The new dad emphasised: ‘Birmingham is so lucky to have them and I will be forever grateful for everything they’ve done.’

The Birmingham native shared how much he’s ‘loving being a dad’ but joked that ‘sadly’ he thinks this now means he ‘can’t get out of’ doing his friends’ Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicome’s parenting podcast.

Fellow dads Josh replied ‘Next Friday?’ while Rob quipped: ‘Let’s talk…’
