At International level, McCabe was the heartbeat of the Irish side that qualified for their first ever World Cup.

McCabe played every game as Ireland were eliminated at the group stage and became the first Irish woman to score at a World Cup when she curled in a corner against Canada on matchday two.

The 28-year-old also added to her back catalogue of wonder strikes with a number of stunning goals including a stunning curling strike against Manchester City last April which was named WSL goal of the season.

McCabe's excellent form at club level saw her rewarded with a bumper new contract to stay at Arsenal.

The Irish skipper wasn't in attendance for tonight's ceremony at Paris as she is away with the Ireland team preparing for tomorrow night's Nations League tie away to Albania.
