Late Late Show fans all left saying same thing as RTE release ...

RTE have released the first official teaser trailer for The Late Late Show ahead of its return.

The new season of the hit chat show will air its first episode in just a week on Friday, September 13.

Host Patrick Kielty will be back in the hot seat for his second year at the helm.

The jam-packed show is set to be filled with interesting chats, belly laughs, celebrity guests and performances.

And fans were left in a frenzy after the first official teaser trailer for the new season was released.

The hit show's mascot is certainly making a return this year as Kielty sits at a bar alongside the familiar owl in the exclusive first look.

The iconic owl has been used for over 60 years since the show began in 1962 with host Gay Byrne.

In the short clip, the owl is presented with a drink from the bar man, while Kielty says: "You're right - the summer has flown.

"I can't wait to be back either. More guests, more fun, more craic, more specials, more giveaways."

And then leaning towards the owl, he added: "More us time - no I get it, you're in the zone, just like me, like a coil spring."

The bar man then called Patrick's name before sliding his drink across the bar.

But the presenter was quick to leave as the drink went past him and smashed onto the floor.

Walking away from the bar, he joked: "Ready to go? I'll just go. No I don't have any money, let's just go," before The Late Late Show theme song played.

Sharing the clip to their Instagram, RTE said: "We’re back! Did you miss us? Because we missed you. Catch the #LateLate NEXT Friday at 9:35pm."

Fans of the hit show raced to the comment section to share their excitement.

Irene said: "Can’t wait."

Shelly wrote: "Yay love you Paddy! Your brilliant!"

Emmanuel added: "It's great to see you back."

The Down comic is getting ready for his big return and he has revealed his strategy for the show.

He told the RTE Guide: "During my first season as host and going into the second series now, you can only be yourself.

"Audiences are smart. Audiences are savvy. They smell bulls*** and that goes for the crews in RTE too, who have seen people come and go."

Patrick spoke about how initially before his first season he thought he may have to "prove something" but the viewers were in his corner from the "get-go".

He said: "Easily the most surprising thing about last season was how kind the audiences were to me."
