Liam and his brother Noel are reforming Oasis next year after 15 years on hiatus.

The 52-year-old, performing on his birthday, belted out 90s classics Rock 'n' Roll Star, Supersonic and Cigarettes & Alcohol in the three-song set.

Gallagher's shaky performance proved a mixed bag with fans, with some cruelly asking if it was a "tribute act."

But a Sky Sports apology for "strong language" from the notoriously potty-mouthed frontman was met with incredulity from fight fans.

The network put out the apology after Gallagher swore between songs.

One baffled fan wrote on X: "Sky Sports apologising for Liam Gallagher’s ‘strong language’ at 9:30pm at an event where we’re watching people punch each other repeatedly in the head..."

Another said: "Hi @SkySportsBoxing you really don’t need to apologise for the strong language when your audience is watching @liamgallagher before a boxing match at 9:30pm on pay per view TV."

A third joked: "Should apologise for the singing. Good luck to anybody that bought Oasis tickets."

While another added: "If you're offended by Liam Gallagher swearing at 9.30 on a Saturday night at the boxing - you're on the wrong channel."

But a fifth countered: "Sky have done that for DECADES. DAZN are doing it because it’s a condition of the broadcasting licence."
