RTÉ has come under fire once again after the news broke that Lottie Ryan has been dropped from her new Drivetime radio show.

It's only a month since the daughter of the late Gerry Ryan and social media star David O'Reilly took over the afternoon slot from The 2 Johnnies.

While David remains in his role, Lottie's position has been filled by a TikTok star.

Reports suggest Kayleigh Trappe is set to jump into the seat as early as this Friday with David.

The Monaghan-born comedian has amassed an army of fans recreating hilarious and often iconic moments from Irish celebs with a repertoire that includes Nadine Coyle's infamous passport debacle, scenes from Joanne and Vogue's podcast and any number of Roy Keane retakes.

In fact, some of her biggest fans are the celebs that she mimics. Louis Walsh has reportedly raved about her cover of him - and to Simon Cowell no less - while Abbey Clancy and Peter Crouch have also name-checked her.

According to the Irish Sun Lottie feels 'betrayed' and 'used' by the company and is 'devastated' by the news.

Speaking to the publication an insider said 'Lottie was the face of the new 2FM summer schedule but she was really only covering Drivetime for a month.'

However, friends close to the star spoke of how she feels 'confused and unprotected' when it comes to the show and that she 'was used by RTÉ to get them out of a mess of bad publicity.'

The presenter has been contacted but is yet to comment on the situation.
