Prior to this season, they hadn’t won a championship group game since August 28, 2020. From three successive seasons without a single group win to county champions. A crucial Watergrasshill burst. 1-3 without reply in seven minutes. From level to six in front. Adam Murphy won a free and then converted. Then half-back Michael O'Driscoll split the posts. Brendan Lehane's third had them three up.
On 52 minutes, Anthony Cronin's delivery broke to Sean Desmond. He shook off the challenge of two Carrigaline defenders and shook the net. 55 minutes gone. Eoghan Cormican.
4:36pm Heading for the final quarter at Páirc Uí Chaoimh and this Cork Premier IHC decider is still deadlocked.
Rhys McCarthy put Carrigaline two in front within seconds of the restart with a wondrous score from the South Stand sideline and three red shirts in pursuit. 4:35pm Kerry's Castleisland Desmonds are the Munster LFGA senior champions. They have beaten Waterford's Comeragh Rangers 3-8 to 1-10.
4:31pm It's tight in the Ulster SFC quarter-final between Derry champions Newbridge and Armagh's Clann Eireann. The Armagh side lead 0-11 to 0-10 after 47 minutes.

4:12pm AIB Munster LGFA Senior Final in Mallow: Castleisland Desmonds (Kerry) 3-6 Comeragh Rangers (Waterford) 1-6. Katie Murray (free) responds for Comeragh who are handed an additional boost when Aishling Leonard sin-binned for 10 minutes. Aoife Murray scores and it is 3-6 to 1-6 with less than quarter of an hour to go as Lorraine Scanlon kicks her third point. Those early goals still keeping Desmonds ahead. Ger McCarthy
4:09pm HT: Carrigaline 0-12, Watergrasshill 1-8. There were 15 seconds of first-half injury-time played when Carrigaline hit the front for the first time in proceedings. A Dylan McCarthy foul on the galloping Ronan Kelleher enabled Brian Kelleher convert his fourth free of the half.
The score represented a fourth consecutive Carrigaline, following as it did a David Griffin boomer from distance and two from play from the aforementioned Kelleher.
Watergrasshill went the last six minutes of the half without adding to their tally. Indeed, they have managed only three scores from the 13th minute onward.

Cork Premier IHC final: Plenty of goalmouth activity early doors in this third tier Cork hurling final. Brendan Lehane was first to threaten for a green flag. The Watergrasshill corner-forward saw his drive blocked. In the third minute, fellow Watergrasshill corner-forward Padraig O'Leary flicked an Adam Murphy sideline cut to the net.
Carrigaline have since had a chance of their own. Rhys McCarthy and his flicked was denied.

2.56pm Full time in Tuam Stadium, and no sooner did Corofin feel a flicker of hope through Liam Silke's point, their fourth in succession to make it 1-10 to 0-10, a fast break over the top saw Jack Nevin the furthest man forward and with Bernard Power miles out of his goal, the Pearses substitute had the simple task of tapping the ball forward and then rolling it into an empty net for the last score of the game.
The 2021 Connacht champions will now be the favourites to prevail in the west, and are very much on the shortlist of potential All-Ireland winners. Kevin Egan.

Wicklow champions Tinahely, who shocked Portarlington last weekend, led by a point with 45 minutes played but couldn't push on for a famous result.
Tullamore substitute Mike Fox, twin brother of earlier goalscorer Dan, came off the bench and struck the goal that settled it for Tullamore in stoppage time.
Their reward is a Leinster club semi-final clash with Cuala, who beat Naas last night in Newbridge. That game will be played on the weekend of November 23/24. Paul Keane

2.23pm Galway SHC final HT, Kenny Park, Athenry: Loughrea 0-11 Cappataggle 0-8.
Loughrea were the stronger side in the opening 10 minutes. They manufactured the first four points, all of them coming inside the first seven minutes and a couple from their half-back line, as Cappataggle were guilty of some wayward shooting.
A Jarlath Mannion goal attempt was put out by Loughrea goalkeeper Gearóid Loughnane in the eighth minute. However, Niall Collins sent over the resultant 65 and Cappataggle were up and running.
Over the next seven minutes, they more than matched Loughrea’s early rally to go 0-5 to 0-4 up. David Malone sent over back-to-back points and Liam Collins equalised in the 13th minute before referee Brian Coen spotted an off-the-ball foul by Johnny Coen and Niall Collins had an easy free to send over.
An exquisite point from an acute angle by Neil Keary brought Loughrea but they required another leveller from Anthony Burns in the 23rd minute following a beautiful Mannion point.
Loughrea went ahead when Tiernan Killeen punished a foul on the roving Shane O’Brien but it was their turn to be hauled back on two occasions before they finished the half with a flourish.
Winning primary ball, Loughrea’s physical edge was demonstrated as they reeled off three scores in a row to go in 0-11 to 0-8 ahead. Burns, with his third point, Ian Hanrahan and Tiernan Killeen with a booming strike were the scorers. John Fogarty.

2.13pm AIB Munster LGFA Intermediate final in Mallow St Ailbe’s (Limerick) 0-7 O’Donovan Rossa (Cork) 0-8 after 52 minutes. Aoife O’Dricool (O’Donovan Rossa) levels it with 10 minutes to go.
Both defences have performed superbly throughout a tight contest but it is Rossa’s who have now inched ahead thanks to Éabha O’Donovan’s free. Ger McCarthy.

Tullamore (Offaly) 1-4 Tinahely (Wicklow) 0-5.
Tullamore's quest for a rare win in the AIB Leinster club SFC, and a glamour semi-final clash with Cuala, hangs in the balance at half-time in Aughrim.
The Offaly outfit lead by 1-4 to 0-5 at the interval though haven't been as commanding as many expected.
Dan Fox's sixth minute goal for Tullamore came after they'd struck a couple of wides and it looked like it might settle the visitors down.
But they've only added four more points, to five from hosts Tinahely, and it remains anyone's game.
Wicklow attacker Eoin Darcy is Tinahely's best known player and he has scored two points, wearing number 11 but operating much closer to the Tullamore goals.
Matthew Ging, son of manager Martin, and who blasted 12 points in the county final to secure a first Wicklow SFC title for Tinahely in 40 years, has scored a point too.
But Tullamore look just the more threatening side and have been at their best when counter-attacking Tinahely, relying on stylish centre-back John Furlong to set things up for them.
Despite winning 30 Offaly SFC titles, Tullamore have only ever won a single game in Leinster, way back in 1977, so can't take anything for granted today. Paul Keane.
2.11pm Éire Óg hit the front for the very first time as Ikem Ugwueru’s slaloming run from 40 metres was finished to the bottom right corner at 1-4 to 0-6. Eoin Brennan
2.10pm The roar around Tuam Stadium is massive to greet John Gilmartin's half-time whistle, as the Pádraig Pearses supporters rise to acclaim an incredible first half performance from their heroes.
It's been a devastating attacking display from the Roscommon club, with Eoin Colleran (0-3) and Paul Carey (1-3) filling their boots. It's 1-8 to 0-3 at the break, and the Galway champions are on the ropes.
All around the pitch Pearses are dominating Corofin, with Niall and Conor Daly hugely influential, and only a Jack McCabe mark raising a flag at the town end of the ground since the 5th minute.
Corofin are too good to be written off at this stage, but coming back from here, if they can achieve it, will be as good as anything they've done in their long and illustrious history. Kevin Egan

The Limerick senior champions continue to lead against O’Donovan Rossa in a tight, low scoring Munster final. Kate Kennedy and Georgina Keane have added to St Ailbe’s total with Kate O’Donovan, Sinead Farrell and Laura O’Mahony on target for the Skibbereen club. Ger McCarthy.

Loughrea hit the first four points but after a slow start with three missed/saved scoring opportunities Cappataggle have well and truly settled.

Joint-captain Éanna O’Hanlon, Tom Cunningham (2) and Diarmuid O’Sullivan with points and then in the 14th minute Diarmuid O’Sullivan found the net - joint-captain Colm O’Shea, Éanna O’Hanlon and Darragh O’Sullivan instrumental in the build-up.
An Éanna O’Hanlon put the host 1-5 to 0-1.
Rathkeale, sorely missing man of the match and attacker from their county final victory Paul White who is teaching in Dubai, registered their second and third points through Andrew White frees, 1-5 to 0-3 in the 20th minute.
The influential Killian O’Hanlon landed a delightful free from distance, and this was followed by minors from Ciarán O’Sullivan and Éanna O’Hanlon.
Rathkeale Mikey Morrissey’s point in the 28th minute was the final score of the half. Therese O'Callaghan.
1.59pm The All-Ireland favourites are shell-shocked here in Tuam Stadium with 25 minutes gone. After corner-forwards Dylan Canney and Darragh Silke scored the first two points, Pádraig Pearses have gone on a run of 1-5 without reply.
Paul Carey has 1-2, including a goal that came at the end of a breakaway move, while he also cleared a shot off the line, after Brian Cogger beat goalkeeper Paul Whelan with his shot.
Eoin Colleran, man of the match in the county final against Roscommon Gaels, also has three excellent points on board as Pearses lead by 1-6 to 0-3 with five minutes to go to half-time. Kevin Egan.

Numerous turnovers and multiple stray passes meant two nervous teams were separated by St Ailbe’s Georgia Keane free after 9 minutes.
O’Donovan Rossa took an age to settle and saw three attempts drift wide before Cork senior Laura O’Mahony was brought down and Éabha O’Donovan equalised from a free.
St Ailbe’s attempts to build on their early good work saw Mairead Kavanagh’s close range shot saved by Skibbereen goalkeeper Ella Hayes.
Fionnuala O’Driscoll was causing issues on the edge of St Ailbe’s square. Rossa’s full forward fielded a high delivery before walloping over a fine score.
Pressing high on Rossa’s kickouts, St Ailbe’s enjoyed plenty of possession but 20 minutes elapsed before Georgia Keane levelled from her second free of the afternoon.
Despite kicking four wides, the Limerick senior champions finished the half stronger with Eimear Ryan, Georgina Keane and Meadhbh MacNamara raising white flags.
Éabha O’Donovan provided O’Donovan Rossa’s only response and the 2023 All-Ireland junior champions changed ends two points in arrears. Ger McCarthy.
1.52pm It’s been score for score at Lewis Road and though the Haven didn’t lead until the 22nd minute, they’ve been every bit as good as their hosts.
Crokes are the sort of side though that doesn’t need to be dominant to succeed - they had two half goal chances for goals but the final pass didn’t go to hand.

1.48pm It is half time in Killarney and the hosts Dr Crokes are edging the Munster Club SFC quarter final against reigning champions Castlehaven 0-6 to 0-5. Tony Leen.

Errigal Ciaran have one foot in the semi-final as they have domionated the opening half at Corrigan Park where they lead Cargin 0-10 to 0-4.
Ruairi Canavan grabbed their first from play as David Johnston went into the book for a foul in the build-up and the Tyrone champions were flying.
However, their shooting began to let them down with five straight wides, yet Cargin were still having no joy getting anything going in the opening period and it took goalkeeper John McNabb to finally get them off the mark with 16 gone.
The Antrim champions enjoyed a mini spell as Tomás McCann and Sean O'Neill replied to one from Ben McDonnell, but the Tyrone side reasserted themselves over the final 10 minutes of the opening half with six of the last seven scores as Joe Oguz, Tiernan Colhoun and Peter Og McCartan assisted the Canavans, Darragh (two) and Ruairi as they have taken a deserved six-point lead into the break.
