Louise hails from Kilcornan in County Limerick.

She attended summer school in Irish and her education at Laurel Hill Coláiste was through Irish. She is very proud of promoting the native language through her work.

Louise is a former Irish and PE teacher. She previously told the Mail on Sunday: ‘I was so young when I started teaching. I was teaching the Leaving Cert at 21 so I was only a few years older than the girls in my classes, so we used to have great craic.'

She was still teaching full-time when she landed her first radio gig. She decided to take a career break at 24 and the rest, as they say, is history.

The Limerick native began her career in radio when she was in college for shows on Spin Southwest.

Louise was 'so unbelievably honoured' when she joined the Today FM team in the autumn of 2022 where she stepped into Dec Pierce’s slot.

She was 'gobsmacked' when she got the call during lockdown in 2021 to front Junior Eurovision.

She was especially proud to nab the TG4 role as a non-Gaeltacht presenter.

The broadcaster has rubbed shoulders with all sorts of stars throughout her career, from Macklemore to Sex and the City's Cynthia Nixon!

She also landed the role on the travel show Téacs Taistil with the station in 2022 where she travelled to mystery locations around Europe with some fellow gaeilgeoirs.

She has serious style

We hope we see even more of Louise on TV because she has an absolutely fabulous sense of style.

Louise has been unveiled as the new weekday presenter with Today FM.

She will replace Pamela Joyce who recently set the record straight about why she left the show abruptly at the beginning of November after five and a half years.

Her new show begins on January 8 and it will run every weekday from 12-2pm.
