Dublin Airport warns passengers of 'severe' M50 delays set to last ...

Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a collision on the M50, with motorists being warned to expect “severe” delays.
The M50 northbound is currently fully closed between Junction 6 Blanchardstown and Junction 7 Lucan due to the incident. Diversions are in place at the Lucan exit.
All lanes have been closed northbound at Junction 7 Lucan. Motorists have been advised to drive carefully and avoid the area if possible. Gardaí are turning around traffic and sending it back to J7.
“Gardaí and emergency services are currently attending a traffic collision at Junction Six Northbound on the M50,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Diversions are in place while the scene is being attended. Delays are expected to continue this afternoon and into this evening.
“We ask motorists to take alternative routes if possible. Your patience and understanding is appreciated.”
Dublin Airport advised passengers to make their way to the airport ahead of time as a result of delays.
“Passengers travelling to Dublin Airport are advised of delays on the M50 northbound due to a traffic collision at Junction 6 (Lucan),” they said.
“Diversions are currently in place at the Lucan exits.
“Please plan your route accordingly and see @GardaTraffic for further updates.”
In a further update this afternoon, Dublin Airport is advising passengers there is a shortage of taxis given the road closure.
“As a result of the ongoing closure of the M50 and heavy traffic around Dublin, there is a shortage of taxis at the airport this afternoon. Passengers are advised to consider using one of the many bus routes servicing the airport,” a spokesperson said in a statement.
