Mallorca vs Barcelona

Barcelona head to Real Mallorca on Tuesday looking to recover from a recent poor run of form that has opened the door to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in La Liga's title race.

Having looked supreme at the top of the standings for the first half of November, a run of three league games without a win — most recently a 2-1 home loss to Las Palmas — has left the Catalans just a point ahead of reigning champions Madrid at the top of the standings.

With Los Blancos in action against Athletic Club on Wednesday, the pressure is on Barca to ensure they do not allow Carlo Ancelotti's team the chance to move above them this week.

Mallorca will be no pushovers, though: Jagoba Arrasate's men came from behind to beat Valencia 2-1 last Friday and sit sixth in the table after 15 games.

Only Madrid, Atletico and Villarreal have won on this ground in league play since mid-February, while Mallorca also held Barca to an engaging 2-2 draw in this fixture last season.

Mallorca vs. Barcelona lineups, predicted starting 11, team news

Mallorca welcome back striker Vedat Muriqi from suspension, and Sport reported that he will be partnered in attack by Abdon Prats. That means Canada forward Cyle Larin, who scored the equaliser against Valencia last time out, drops to the bench.

Omar Mascarell and Antonio Sanchez are expected to anchor a midfield that will have plenty of work to do to limit Barca's control over proceedings.

Mallorca predicted lineup (4-4-2, right to left): Roman (GK) — Maffeo, Valjent, Raillo, Mojica — Valery, Mascarell, Sanchez, Chiquinho — Muriqi, Prats

Injured: Lato, Copete, Cuellar
Suspended: None

Flick said he will start both Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo, and with Marc Casado returning from suspension, the Catalans are looking stronger.

Alejandro Balde is expected to be available after recovering from the blow to the neck he suffered against Las Palmas, but Ansu Fati, Ronald Araujo, Andreas Christensen and Marc Bernal are still sidelined. Goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen will not return until at least the spring of 2025.

Barcelona predicted lineup (4-3-3, right to left): Pena (GK) — Kounde, Cubarsi, Martinez, Balde — Olmo, Casado, Pedri — Lamine Yamal, Lewandowski, Raphinha

Injured: Araujo, Bernal, Christensen, Fati, Ter Stegen
Suspended: None
