Marc Guehi was born in the town of Abidjan, that gave the likes of Didier Drogba and Wilfried Zaha to the world. After his first birthday, the family moved to England and settled in Lewisham. Initially, what interested Guehi was not soccer but playing drums in the family church. Both of his parents were highly religious, with his dad being a pastor. As a result, it was a priority for the father to guard his child’s faith.

Hence, when Marc Guehi declared his intention to attend a soccer school, it was met with resistance from the parents. Instead, the advice he received was to focus on education. But Guehi didn’t want to give up on his dream. He deceived his parents and claimed that education would be his priority. I’d say our relationships aren’t really serious, it is more about having jokes and having fun together.” Also, the central defender added that his mum has always been there for him.
