Gardai have stood down their missing person appeal for a south Dublin woman after the discovery of a body.

Margaret Barber, aged 66, had been missing from her home in Mount Merrion since August 8th.

A garda spokeswoman said today: "Following the discovery of a body, the missing person appeal in respect of Margaret Barber, 66 years, who was reported missing since 8th August 2024, has been stood down.

"An Garda Síochána would like to thank the media and public for their assistance in this matter. No further action is required and no further information is available at this time."
