Marty Whelan said the moment he walked his daughter Jessica down the aisle was "full of emotion".
The RTE presenter also shared his pride for son Thomas for pursuing his dream career.
Marty and wife Maria have an incredibly close bond with their two children so seeing Jessica start a new chapter in her life was a very emotional experience for them.

He told RSVP Magazine: "We're a very close family so I was full of emotion.
"I was proud as punch because she looked beautiful but I was also upset because I was like, 'Oh my God, I'm giving her away'.
"The guy she married, Conor, is an absolute gent, he's very good to her and they're very good together.
"She and her brother Thomas have such a bond and they're constantly on the phone to each other, and when they're not, they're in each other's company."
Marty delivered a speech on the day but was nervous beforehand.
"I was thinking , 'Oh merciful hour' but thank God, it went right," he told us.
"She is my daughter and I had one chance, it is unlikely she'll marry again.
"It was a whirlwind but I also wanted it to be right, I wanted it to be respectful and I wanted to give people a bit of a laugh."
Jessica no longer lives in the family home but still lives close by.
"I have friends whose sons and daughters live in Melbourne, Jessica only lives in Donabate," Marty said.
"I'm in Malahide so it's only 11 minutes from one house to another so she hasn't really gone away.
"Her room hasn't changed and I've noticed very few of her clothes are gone."
Marty and Maria's son Thomas is studying law and the Eurovision commentator is fully supportive of his career choices.
He said: "Thomas is still studying and he's working away in a law firm in town.
"I remember when I started doing media for a living I was nervous about it, but I was convinced that it was the right thing to do.
"My dad couldn't understand why I didn't have a proper job because that's what people did."
Do Jessica and Thomas come to Marty for advice?
"The advice is generally not good," he joked.
"They're very independent, but we chat all the time.
"It's very important to have that connection with your family."
What kind of dad is Marty?
"I'm easy going and I'm not a strict dad," he said.
"I'm fair and open and I'm soft.
"Maria would be the same and we have an open-door policy where they can chat about whatever they want."
