Ballymahon native Maura Higgins is set to make a late arrival to the jungle as she joins the cast of I'm A Celebrity: Get Me Out Of Here.

As a late entry to camp, the former Love Island star is hoping to bring plenty of energy – but falling in love under the jungle stars is not on the agenda as she admits going on I’m A Celebrity will be the hardest thing she has ever done.

“I am single at the moment, but honestly no-one is going to fancy me in the jungle. Trust me!

"This is my chance to show my vulnerable side and talk about work, rather than boys," Maura said.

The star is prepared to bring her unique blend of humour to the jungle, although she has an idea as to what may tick off other camp members.

"I feel like I will bring humour to the camp and not take things too seriously. I will be encouraging of others. Worst? I can be loud at times and I am impatient."

She's not all beauty however - Maura said she also plans to contribute to the daily tasks while on the show.

"I love to cook and clean at home," she said. "[I'll] definitely either [be] cooking or [doing] chores."

And whilst she insists her fears could be a big issue, Maura says she is determined to enjoy every single moment of her time in camp.

“I am going to be brave,” she said. “I want to go in and see how I get on. It was the same with Love Island and I am looking forward to it all.”
