Petit's Harsh Criticism of Mbappé

Former French international Emmanuel Petit criticized France's star, Kylian Mbappé, stating that "so far, he is not worthy of being a captain" because "he does not take enough responsibility on the field."

In statements collected by German television NTV, the former midfielder commented that the forward "has not been up to the mark since the beginning of this EURO" and that "he is not in good physical shape," adding that "his broken nose also hinders him."

"It was already too late when he was substituted at the halftime of extra time in the quarterfinals against Portugal. He should have been substituted at most after an hour," Petit asserted.
