Former Coronation Street star Melissa Johns opens up about wedding
Former Coronation Street star Melissa Johns, who married her fiancé Dan Hampton last month, has opened up about her wedding, revealing that she thought it might never happen.
In an interview with OK!, Johns, who was born missing half of her right arm, said her disability made her question whether she would ever find love.
"Because of having one arm and looking very different to other people growing up, when I was young, I wasn't necessarily sure getting married was something that would happen for me," she said.

"People do comment on it and question whether you'll find love or get married," she continued. "Simply because of the way you look or because you're disabled. So, because of the way I grew up, our special day meant a million times more to me."
Opening up about married life, Johns said she "didn't expect to feel such an unbelievable change in myself and my relationship" after the wedding, which took place at a 14th-century manor house.
The happy couple are currently enjoying a mini honeymoon in Sicily thanks to Emmerdale star Laura Norton and her fiancé Mark Jordon who auctioned the trip at a charity ball they hosted last year.

Speaking about her career, Johns said she is heading straight back to the set of Grantchester following her mini-moon where she will resume the role of police secretary Miss Jennifer Scott.
"I got a week off from filming, and then I'm back," she explained. "But I absolutely love it. Grantchester is one of the most wonderful period dramas to be a part of. I'm also continuing to develop my one-woman show, Snatched, which toured the UK a couple of years ago. We're now adapting that for television, which is exciting. Getting to do the job I do is just an absolute dream."
