Leading forecasters have warned of a deteriorating weather situation following the June bank holiday weekend.
While this weekend will see plenty of sunshine if not scorching June temperatures, by the middle of next week it's all set to change.
Temperatures will plunge by Wednesday with a high risk of rain with one forecaster calling the potential conditions "Distinctly unimpressive for June."

Taking to X, The Snow Dreamer account posted: "It improves this weekend but expect it to turn cooler everywhere on Wednesday and growing rain risk… showery. Well below average temperatures are likely in northern UK. Distinctly unimpressive for June."
Before that unseasonable cold and wet weather arrives, there will be plenty of sunshine this June bank holiday weekend. The latest forecast from Met Eireann shows that Saturday will be a dry day with "long sunny spells."

Saturday, June 1A fine and dry day tomorrow with long sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees with light to moderate northerly winds. Saturday night will be dry with clear spells at first. Cloud will increase from the northwest overnight. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees with light breezes.
SundaySunday will be mostly cloudy with some light patchy rain or drizzle feeding in from the northwest. The best of any bright or sunny intervals will be in the south and southeast. Highest temperatures of 16 to 20 degrees, warmest in the south with light breezes. Sunday night will continue mostly cloudy with patchy light rain, drizzle or mist. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11 degrees overnight.
MondayMonday will continue mostly cloudy with rain or drizzle at times. Some drier intervals also. Highest temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees with moderate west to northwest breezes.
TuesdayTuesday will start off mostly cloudy with some light rain or drizzle. It will brighten up from the northwest later with a few showers. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees with moderate to fresh northwest winds.
