Mike Tyson's fight with Jake Paul at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on July 20 has been postponed on medical grounds. The 57-year-old had been unable to train ahead of the officially sanctioned professional fight due to an ulcer flare-up, but a new date is set to be announced on June 7. Mike Tyson's fight with Jake Paul has been postponed.

The former undisputed heavyweight champion was set to go head-to-head with the YouTuber-turned-boxer at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas on July 20.

However, the 57-year-old had been unable to train ahead of the officially sanctioned professional fight due to an ulcer flare-up.

Despite the delay, Tyson believes he will be in the best shape he has been in since the 1990s when he finally fights Paul, with a new date for the fight set to be announced on June 7.

"My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s, and I will be back to my full training schedule soon," he said.

"Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end, you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good.

"I appreciate everyone's patience and can't wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year."

It has been reported that light-welterweight champion Katie Taylor's rematch with Amanda Serrano, which was on the card, will also be postponed.

Paul has a record of nine wins from his ten fights, with the only defeat coming against Love Island star Tommy Fury in February 2023.

The 27-year-old insists he wants Tyson to be at his best when they collide in the Lone Star State.

"I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night," he said.

"My fans know I don't want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake: When he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish."

Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Netflix are staging the event at the 80,000-seater stadium in Dallas, and they confirmed that both Tyson and Paul agreed to the postponement.

"The recommendation is for Mike Tyson to do minimal to light training over the next few weeks and then return to full training with no limitations," MVP said.

"Both Mike and Jake are in agreement that it is only fair to ensure that both athletes have equal training time to prepare for this important match and are able to compete at the highest level.

"The health and wellbeing of athletes is our top priority, and we fully support Mike in taking the necessary time to allow him to perform at the level he expects of himself."
