What is the head-to-head record like?

The clubs have only met on four occasions with two of those matches being Champions League finals. Liverpool won the first of those back in 2005 when they famously came from 3-0 down at half-time to draw 3-3 before triumphing on penalties.

Milan took revenge two years later with a 2-1 win in the 2007 final while Liverpool picked up two wins in the 2021/22 groups stages.
