Millwall vs Leeds United highlights and reaction
Welcome along to today's live Leeds United coverage as the Whites travel to face Millwall at The Den. Daniel Farke's side are looking to claim their second win of the season this afternoon and extend their unbeaten run in the Championship to four games.
Having seen the transfer window close a fortnight ago, Leeds will be aiming to produce a more settled performance today and we're expecting to see a debut or two with Ilia Gruev and Jaidon Anthony set to be involved. Farke will also be hoping to welcome back players from injury with Dan James, Sam Byram and Liam Cooper all returning to training this week.
The Lions are currently a point better off after five games and they'll fancy their chances of getting one over a fierce rival this afternoon. We're reporting live from The Den to bring you all the team news, build-up and match updates.
GOOOOAAAALLLLLLLLL 12:16
KICK OFF 12:02
14:00William Jackson
That kickstarts a run of six games in four weeks in the perfect manner. They go to Hull on Wednesday night and they'll fancy their chances of building on this performance.
13:58KEY EVENT
That'll do nicely. Leeds into the top half with a great performance. They didn't have it all their own way but I can't say the scoreline flatters them. Their attacking talent was the difference.
13:55William Jackson
Emakhu caught him there in the act of taking a shot. It wasn't malicious but that looked a painful one.
13:52William Jackson
His speculative effort flies over the bar. Five minutes added on.
89'William Jackson
Rutter and Gray coming off to huge ovations.
Gelhardt and Gruev on.
13:49William Jackson
He beats his man, gets into the box before seeing his effort deflected for a corner. The Den has compeltely emptied out.
13:47William Jackson
His pace has killed Millwall, who have been taking risks and committing men forward to try and find a way into the game.
84'William Jackson
Kamara on for Piroe
13:44William Jackson
Breaking away into the space down the right, James pushed on before looking inside to pick out Rutter. Rutter did well to stay onside before lashing the ball with venom beyond Bialkowski.
81'William Jackson
RUTTTTEERRRRRRRR 3-0!
78'William Jackson
The Welshman drove the ball towards the edge of the box before slipping Rutter through. Rutter returned it to James, whose scuffed shot was turned home at the back post by Piroe.
13:39William Jackson
PIRRROOEEEEEEEEEE
13:36William Jackson
Ayling's cross collided with a Millwall arm in the area there but the referee didn't deem it worthy of a penalty.
73'William Jackson
Longman off for Emakhu.
69'William Jackson
He gets up to meet a Summerville corner but can't find the target.
Summerville and Gnonto off for James and Anthony. James on the right, Anthony on the left.
13:29William Jackson
James and Anthony stripped on the sidelines for Leeds.
13:28William Jackson
The Hull City loanee cuts inside and hits it on his right before seeing his effort fly over the bar again.
65'William Jackson
But fires over. Millwall making changes now.
De Norre, Nisbet and Campbell off
Esse, Watmore and Flemming on.
13:23William Jackson
The Dutchman latches onto a throughball and drives into the box but he can't beat Jake Cooper.
55'William Jackson
There was no one there, though. The ball flashes across the face of goal and out for a throw in. Gnonto's cut a frustrated figure at times today. Hasn't impressed like his attacking teammates.
13:09William Jackson
Bradshaw gets in behind Struijk and hits it but Meslier holds his ground to beat the effort away.
13:07William Jackson
Can Leeds hold on for the three points? We're about to find out.
12:59William Jackson
Some of their attacking football has been out of this world. They've sliced Millwall open on two or three occasions with swift and decisive counter attacking play. Rutter has been great on the half turn, Piroe's got the goal and Summerville's had his moments too.
12:56William Jackson
I think Leeds have been strong at the back. There's been some hairy moments but they've shown character and nous to ride out the Millwall pressure and maintain their clean sheet. Rodon has been great, as has Meslier.
12:52William Jackson
Leeds haven't had it all their own way but they've weathered the Millwall storm and they lead at the break.
12:47William Jackson
He picks the ball up in space on the edge of the Whites box before lashing it over the bar.
12:44William Jackson
He'll continue with a black bandage wrapped around his head.
12:41William Jackson
He took a head knock and stayed down.
31'William Jackson
He's done superbly under pressure so far today and he's just parried away Longman's tricky effort from the edge of the area.
First-half analysisBeren Cross
Millwall have been by far the better team up to now, but they are behind. Leeds are doing what good sides do in this league, get ahead when they're not playing well.
Millwall have been intense with their press and Leeds too error-prone with the ball in their own third. They took the goal very well though. A surgical counter and that has settled the visitors, who are looking more threatening more consistently.
