P Diddy appeared in court in New York on Tuesday for his arraignment following his arrest in Manhattan on Monday night. A Grand Jury indicted him with charges including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud, or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

The rapper pleaded not guilty to the charges. While Diddy's three sons supported him in court, it is reported that his 17-year-old twin daughters D'Lila Star Combs and Jessie James Combs are staying in Los Angeles.

P Diddy's lawyer has stated that the rapper 'isn't afraid' of the sex trafficking charges against him. Diddy was denied bail and will be held in a New York jail ahead of his trial, reports the Mirror US.

It is claimed that the two girls are currently being cared for by their late mother Kim Porter's best friend, Lala. Kim tragically passed away inside her Toluca Lake home in November 2018.

Speaking to TMZ, a source claimed that Lala has "acted as a caregiver for the girls for several years", but clarified that she is not their legal guardian. It's believed Jessie and D'Lila currently attend school in Los Angeles, with Lala overseeing their day-to-day schedules.

The source described her as a "mother figure" and said she "does her best to protect the girls". The Mirror US has approached Diddy's representative for comment.

The indictment against Diddy, as seen by The Mirror US, accuses the rapper of using "the employees, resources, and influence of his multi-faceted business empire to create a criminal enterprise involved in sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice."

It also alleges that Diddy used his businesses and staff "to carry out, facilitate, and cover up his abuse and commercial sex." The indictment suggests that security personnel, household staff, personal assistants, and high-ranking supervisors were complicit in Diddy's alleged actions.

Diddy's business empire, referred to as the "Combs Business," in court documents, encompasses Bad Boy Entertainment, Combs Enterprises, and Combs Global. His ventures span "record labels, a recording studio, a clothing line, an alcoholic spirits business, a marketing agency, and a television network and media company."

Assistant US attorney Emily Johnson told the court during the arraignment: "Mr Combs physically and sexually abused victims for decades. He used the vast resources of his company to facilitate his abuse and cover up his crimes. Simply put, he is a serial abuser and a serial obstructer."
