Patrick Horgan has been playing hurling since he was a child, with the GAA star becoming the all-time top Munster Championship scorer in 2017.
He has broken many records throughout his playing career, meaning that he’s cemented his name in Irish sporting history.
Off the pitch, he is a dedicated husband to his wife and father to his son.

How old is Patrick and where is he from?Patrick was born on 5 May 1988, making him 36 years old. He is originally from Blackpool in Cork.
When did Patrick start playing hurling?Patrick joined the Glen Rovers club at a young age and played in all grades at juvenile and underage levels.
He was part of the panel when Glen Rovers beat Carrigaline in the Premier County Minor Championship final in 2005.
He was appointed captain of the Glen Rovers minor team for the 2006 season. That year, they won their second Premier County Minor Championship against Bishopstown, with Patrick being named man of the match display. It was his last championship game in the minor grade.
After moving onto the Glen Rovers under-21 team, he was part of the team that beat Duhallow in the Cork Premier Under-21 Championship in November 2008.
He had just turned 17 years old when he made his first appearance at senior level.
Patrick scored nine points, including seven frees, against Sarsfields to win the 2015 Cork Senior Hurling Championship. It was the club's first championship title since 1989.
He first played for Cork as a member of the minor team. Over the years that followed, he was part of the county teams that won the 2007 Munster Under-21 Hurling Championship and the Munster Minor Hurling Championship in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
The hurler made his first appearance for the Cork senior hurling team on 9 March 2008 in a 3-18 to 2-16 National Hurling League defeat of Dublin. He was later included on the panel for the 2008 Munster Championship and made his debut on 8 June as a 68th-minute substitute for Niall McCarthy.
He was named vice-captain of the Cork senior team for the upcoming season on 29 October 2011, but later assumed the captaincy after an injury to captain Donal Óg Cusack ruled him out.
He won a Munster Championship medal after scoring eight points in Cork's 2-24 to 0-24 defeat of Limerick in the last final to be played at the old Páirc Uí Chaoimh on 3 July 2014.
He won his second Munster Championship medal on 9 July 2017 after scoring thirteen points in the 1-25 to 1-20 defeat of Clare in the final. That match led to Patrick surpassing Christy Ring to become Cork's all-time top championship scorer.
He won a third Munster Championship medal following a 2-24 to 3-19 defeat of Clare in the final in 2018.
In 2012, he was selected for the Munster inter-provincial team for the first time, with the player winning a Railway Cup medal the following year.
When it comes to retirement, he told RSVP Live last year: “I am not really sure yet what is going to happen. I am trying to enjoy hurling while I can at the moment.
“What happens after that happens, I have no control over it. I am back with my club at the moment and I am enjoying it.”
Who is Patrick’s wife?
Patrick is married to his wife Ashley Lovett. The couple tied the knot in a beautiful wedding ceremony in November 2019.
Their stunning winter wedding took place at the Church of St Mary's in Ballincollig before they partied the night away at the Maryborough Hotel & Spa.
They welcomed their first child together in 2022. Sharing a series of pictures on social media from the hospital, Jack said: “Meet Jack Horgan, my new best friend”.
