Paul Mescal's shorts get Gucci glow-up at Milan Fashion Week

Will Paul Mescal ever escape the connection with GAA shorts after sparking a frenzy when Normal People came out? Probably not, but he seems content about it and his latest pair of Gucci shorts have sent fans wild again.

The actor, who was recently photographed filming the new Gladiator film, stepped out at Gucci's fashion show during Milan's Menswear Fashion Week on Monday and caused a stir with his look.

Paul rocked a pair of very short shorts - more boxers really - with a pinstripe pattern paired with a blue shirt that had the Gucci emblem on the pocket. To finish off his look he added white socks and black loafers.

Paul is no stranger to a mini pair of bottoms since making GAA shorts cool on Normal People or an appearance at a Gucci show with the actor often being seen in the brand's clothing, they even dressed his family for the Oscars.

In the aftermath of Normal People, GQ Magazine hailed Paul as the style icon of the summer and he had the best reaction to finding out Gucci had made a pair of swimming trunks that looked very similar to GAA shorts.

Paul previously commented on the obsession around his shorts, telling Harper's Bazaar that he found all the attention 'thrilling' and joking that '[O’Neills] are going to get great f*****g airtime out of this.'

It's great to see Paul still rocking the shorts four years on from the TV series dropping and while he mightn't have been in real sporting gear at the Gucci show he was joined by sports royalty.

Serena and Venus Williams were among the famous faces sitting in the front row with Paul, with Serena wearing a baby pink suit styled with a matching sparkly shirt and thin belt.

Venus also looked fabulous in a white two-piece and long red jacket which she styled with black heels for the fashion show in Milan.

It's great to see Paul's love for shorts live on for another season!
