Paul Mescal

The internet loves Paul Mescal. It loves his hair. It loves his cardigans. It love his loafers. Because, in a relatively short amount of time, the actor has found a style that's both classic and slightly sexy at once – and that's a precious space where most guys want to land. So, when he pulled up to the fourth annual Academy Museum Gala over the weekend, there was another big fit that got was on the receiving end of a digital love-in.

In Los Angeles, the Gladiator II star went for a lovely double-breasted suit by Gucci. With its broad shoulders and its fanged-out satin lapels, this was yet another awesome look for the Mescal canon. But it's the small details that make everything pop a little louder. Zoom in, friends.

Over the past few months, very famous dudes have been going hard for brooches. From Cillian Murphy to Jude Bellingham, these pin-ons go from loud and glitzy to quiet and slight. And Mescal elected for something from the latter camp, with a super dainty design Juste un Clou tie pin. Inspired by Cartier's eternally popular nail bracelet, this piece comes in some very flashy materials and finishes, but he went for the ultra clean white gold version instead.

Speaking of Cartier, the 28-year-old actor has been good pals with the French luxury brand for a while now. And though he's been spotted in the Tank Square Incurvée that's already miniscule to begin with, on Saturday, he had the Tank Mini instead. Measuring at just 24mm in length, the watch (which has been affectionately-nicknamed the Tiny Tank) released last month and is the latest model to take on the “diminutive timepiece” trend that's seen classic watches go on a strict diet plan.

Paul Mescal is still making a big impact in menswear – and not just with a pair of short shorts.
