Pete Wicks shows support for I'm A Celeb star Maura Higgins

Pete Wicks has publicly shown support for the I'm A Celeb star Maura Higgins who confirmed their romance on Sunday.

The former TOWIE star has been casually dating the 34-year-old for the past five months and according to sources has ended all other romantic pursuits.

One of the most famous partners who got the boot so he could focus on Maura is his former Strictly Come Dancing partner Jowitz Przystal.

In his public display of support for Maura, Pete took to his Instagram to urge viewers to vote for the hilarious Irish woman and posted some heart emojis.

Reposting a viral meme of her on the ITV show, Pete wrote: 'I've been George of the Jungle but now it's time to vote for Maura of the Jungle.'

He also shared a voting link that his 1.8m followers could click on to keep Maura in the jungle. 

In the video he shares, which was originally posted on the show's Instagram account, Maura could be seen having a wild conversation with her unlikely best friend Reverend Richard Coles.

In Sunday night's episode, fellow campmate Oti Mabuse quizzed Maura on whether or not she was single, to which she replied: 'I am but I was seeing someone before I came in but I'm not in a relationship.'

Reverend Richard then asked: 'Was it exclusive? Or if I've put you on the spot, sorry!', to which she responded: 'I dunno'.

Dean then asked her if the public would know who her love interest was, and she answered: 'Yeah.'

Maura also admitted that she has never been in love, and when asked if her current situation 'feels different,' she said: 'It does, but then is it because we've known each other for a long time?'

Richard added: 'You'd know if he was an asshole or not, by now, as the stunner smiled to herself, and replied: 'Yeah, he's not an a**hole.'

Sources close to Pete revealed to the Mail on Sunday that he is telling friends he is completely smitten with the jungle star.

A friend said: ‘Before Maura entered the jungle, Pete wanted to make their relationship exclusive.'

'But Maura, aware of Pete’s reputation and his close bond with Jowita, decided to slow things down.'

'She gave him an ultimatum: either commit to her or let it go. So she went off a single woman.'
