In a post describing Pierce Brosnan's suit, Canadian fashion expert Derek Guy cited the attire Amitabh Bachchan was seen wearing in his iconic 1979 song 'Rimjhim Gire Sawan'.

Indian X users were delighted after Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan's 'suit' sensibilities found mention in Canadian men's wear expert Derek Guy's post on former 'James Bond' star Pierce Brosnan’s suit that he wore to Wimbledon on Sunday.

Brosnan, 71, made a striking statement in a navy double-breasted Ralph Lauren suit at the Men's Singles final. The two-piece, a linen, silk and wool composition, featured lapels across the front and a classic ticket pocket on the right.

At the outset, Derek Guy said that Brosnan, 71, looked “better than most men can ever hope”. However, he suggested that the Irish actor “would look even better” in a longer jacket.

“Brosnan looks better than most men can ever hope. But I think he would look even better in a longer jacket. This would make the jacket look less squat. Would also lower the buttoning point, which would elongate the lapel,” Guy said in his post, sharing a picture for reference apart from images of Brosnan.

To explain his point, Derek Guy shared a snippet of a Bollywood song - a 70s classic - featuring Amitabh Bachchan in a suit. The attire that Big B is seen wearing in the song - ‘Rimjhim Gire Saawan’, also featuring Moushumi Chatterjee from their film ‘Manzil’ - is an “example of a double-breasted jacket” that is a “little longer” than what Brosnan wore, Derek Guy said, to illustrate his suggestion on Brosnan's suit.

“Here's an example of a double-breasted jacket that's a little longer than what Brosnan is wearing. The length allows the maker to lower the buttoning point, creating a longer, sweeping lapel line. Torso also looks less squat. But agree, Brosnan still looks great,” Guy said.

The post swiftly drew the attention of Indian X users; it has clocked over 2 lakh views so far.
