WASHINGTON (TND) — One woman did not have a possum in her Christmas tree on her wish list this year.
A video posted to TikTok by user brettbratt359 shows how she found a possum hiding in her decorated faux snow tree.
The video quickly went viral with more than 4.3 million views and thousands of comments.
One person joked that Santa gave her an early present while another wrote "New fear unlocked!!"
"I don't know how this thing is in my house right now," Brett Ingram can be heard saying in the clip.
In the video, the possum can be seen peeking through the branches in the middle of the tree as the woman films it.
“I am literally freaking out right now,” she is heard saying. “I have no idea how this possum got in my house and up into my tree and I’m trying to get it out but it will not let me and I just don’t know what to do. I don’t know how it got in here, I don’t leave my doors open. Somebody help!”
Another video gives an up close and personal look at the possum that appears to be falling asleep.
"Hey, little buddy. How did you get in my house and into my tree without me noticing? You’re really cute but I don’t know what to do."
Ingram later explained how she found the possum and was able to remove it from her home after she heard it sneezing while she was sitting on the couch.
She said it took about 10 minutes to remove the possum as it held "on for dear life to the Christmas tree" and hid under her couch several times.
