HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Power has been restored in Waimanalo a water main geyser hit powerlines in the Waimanalo area, leaving thousands without power overnight.
The outage began around 1:20 a.m.
At least 2,460 customers were impacted in Hahaione, Hawaii Kai, Kalama Valley and Waimanalo, according to HECO’s outage map.
We’re told the geyser on Hihimanu Street was hitting powerlines which forced Hawaiian Electric to cut power to Waimanalo due to hazardous electrical conditions.
Officials said that power would be off until the Board of Water Supply could turn off the water.
Power was turned back on shortly before 6 a.m.
