Liverpool Premier League fixtures 2023/24 - Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on opening day

Liverpool will kick off the 2023/24 Premier League with a visit to Chelsea on August 13.

The Reds made the request to begin the new term away from home earlier this year to facilitate the finishing touches that are being placed on the new Anfield Road stand, which remains on schedule to open its doors in a couple of months.

The new 61,000-seat stand will play host to Bournemouth on August 19 as Liverpool unveil their new £80m stand but before that it is a visit to Stamford Bridge for what will be Mauricio Pochettino's first competitive game as Chelsea boss. That fixture will be televised on Sky Sports at 4.30pm as the Reds kick-off their campaign in potentially explosive style in west London.

Everton and Liverpool handed opening fixture hint after double Premier League request

Luton Town are back in the top flight for the first time since the 1991/92 season and will be a welcome addition to the Premier League.

The Hatters confirmed their long-awaited return to the top tier after getting the better of Coventry City in the Championship play-off final, completing their journey from non-league to the pinnacle of English football in the space of a decade.

Even before securing their place in the Premier League, the club's Kenilworth Road stadium was doing the rounds on social media due to its unique Oak Road end, which sees away supporters gain access to the ground via entrances set between terrace houses.

Luton are now in the process of rebuilding one stand this summer as part of a £10m redevelopment, though the viral away entrance will remain untouched.

“There aren't any other access points," Luton Town chief executive Gary Sweet confirmed last month. “It is as it is. We might have a lick of paint and new signage every so often but let's embrace this. “It annoys me and makes me giggle when you get the social media content about an away end going through gardens. It's been like that since World War II or even before. Why is it raised now, just because we might be going into the Premier League? Erling Haaland's not going to walk through that entrance, he's going to walk through the other s**t entrance we've got. Embrace it.

Expect plenty of fixture list movement

As a result of their 5th-place finish last season, the 2023/24 season will see Liverpool contest in the Europa League and have hopes of reaching the showpiece final in Dublin.

And with all Europa League fixtures taking place on Thursday evenings, it means that plenty of the Reds' Premier League fixtures will be moved to either the Sunday or the Monday slot. So despite the dates and times being released later on, expect plenty of changes.
