Comedian Rachel Galvo speaks about mental health ahead of one-woman show
Rachel Galvo is hyper-aware of her privilege. The 24-year-old Dublin comedian addresses it almost as soon as we start speaking, as if to beat me to the punch. Galvo, who is bringing her one-woman show to venues in Ireland and the UK this year, leans heavily on her Catholic upbringing and the education she received at a south Dublin all-girls school.
“I am so aware that that is a crazy, insane amount of privilege, and that that place and that upbringing was not normal,” she says.
