Robbie Williams: Relief as traffic flows for second Nikola Estate concert after car chaos at first show
Organisers of Robbie Williams’ Perth concerts will be breathing a sigh of relief after the disaster of the first show — which saw punters stranded for hours in traffic gridlock — appeared to have eased somewhat for his second show on Friday night.
About 15,000 people descended on the Swan Valley for the concerts hosted at Nikola Estate.
But after the first concert on Thursday night, furious fans flooded social media complaining they missed out on part of the show and had to walk 2km to reach the main entry because of the traffic chaos.
The show finished at 10.50pm but some punters said they were still trying to exit the carpark at 1.40am — nearly three hours later.
Adding to the chaos, a bus got bogged as people tried to leave the concert. Some people simply gave up and slept in their cars.

New measures put in place for the final concert of Williams’ XXV World Tour included traffic light management to improve traffic flow at the corner of Great Northern Highway and Reid Highway.
It also expanded the number of entry and exit points and a different route was used for the Guildford shuttle buses and pre-paid Buswest buses.

One woman took to social media to explain that she had been planning to go but had changed her mind after the chaos.
“Was supposed to be going to the Robbie Williams concert with Mellen Events but the sh** show that went on last night with traffic chaos and lack of organisation totally puts you off going.
“Still had a fab day at home chilling out and now looking forward to being able to go to the boys Xmas concert at school which I was sad to be missing anyway.
“Total waste of money but hoping the fab RW will come to Perth again and play at a central venue as previously enjoyed.”
One woman who did go to the concert said that while she had been apprehensive after the mayhem of Thursday’s concert, her experience at Friday’s show had been good.
She travelled to the venue on a pre-booked bus and was home by midnight.
“We were very lucky compared to the unfortunate people that got stuck last night due to poor management. It was still chaos tonight but no one was complaining! Awesome show,” she wrote on social media.

One concert-goer said they did not get to leave the carpark until 1.30am and others noted two-hour delays to leave after the show.
Meanwhile, the man himself has thanked Perth in a social media post but made no mention of the controversy about the management of his gigs.
“Perth: thank you for 2 amazing nights in your beautiful city. I love you Australia, I hope to see you again soon. Lots of love, Rob x,” Williams wrote.
