“Well not really directly in his boxing, he did his own thing,” Roddy explained.”It would be around the gym. I’d see him around the training camp, I’d spar with him for a couple of rounds.

“Basically, I’d run all the say, people going to support him. I organised the flights, hotels, busses, and match or fight tickets, I’d make sure everyone had a good time. That was what I done.

“I was the world champion belt carrier, not boxer, I used to walk into the ring with the belt. Right?”

The former professional football player and manager then stood up to demonstrate how he would carry the belt, with his arms high above his head.

“You come down, and the entourage comes in,” he continued.

“There are 20-odd thousand people on the screen. I’ve got the belt, and I’m full of adrenaline, I’m killing everyone. And I’m going by his opponent and I’m going, ‘your fucking getting it pal’ and walk around and come round to his trainers, ‘Your getting it too!’”.
