Roderic O'Gorman elected new leader of the Greens

He won out in a vote of Green Party members.

Roderic O'Gorman has been confirmed as the new leader of the Greens.

He defeated Senator Pippa Hackett to take over from Eamon Ryan, who announced he was stepping down last month.

The Dublin West TD won by 984 votes to 912.

He becomes just the fourth leader in the history of the party and has been the Minister for Children and Integration since 2020.

The new Green leader said he wants to see a progressive budget and he won’t be afraid to call out disinformation about the Green Party from other opposition TDs.
