The State Emergency Service of Ukraine published footage on Wednesday of firefighters coming under Russian shelling while attempting to extinguish fires in the Donetsk region. Bodycam footage shows emergency personnel beating out flames from shrubs before the sound of shelling interrupts the efforts and forces the firefighters to withdraw, leaving fields ablaze. In a text shared alongside the video, the ministry said that the fires were initially started by previous Russian shelling. Surveillance drones could be heard in the video while the firefighters were withdrawing.
