Manchester United's priority is to agree a new contract with Ten Hag but also know bringing icon Van Nistelrooy back would be a big winner with fans.

The Dutchman has also been interviewed for the vacant manager's job at Burnley following Vincent Kompany's move to Bayern Munich.
However the former striker is enthused by a role at Old Trafford.
Van Nistelrooy played for Man United from 2001 to 2006, scoring 150 goals in 219 appearances for the club before signing for Real Madrid.
He has been out of work since stepping down as PSV Eindhoven head coach in May 2023.
Ten Hag, meanwhile, will continue as Man United boss next season, despite huge speculation over his future.
