A row has broken out between Lioness Ella Toone's boyfriend and Coronation Street's Ryan Prescott over his disputed claim that the soap star is refusing to leave a house he promised to his widowed grandfather.

The soap star, 35, has been accused by landlord Joe Bunney, 30, of staying in the home with his actress girlfriend Amy Lythgoe beyond the tenancy agreement.

Mr Bunney, a non-league footballer, says he found out the pair were refusing to get out of the pad while he was on holiday and claims his pensioner grandfather now has nowhere to go having only just convincing him to move out of his previous home.

But Mr Prescott vehemently rejects the claims, is adamant he has been a responsible tenant and is considering taking legal action, MailOnline understands. Mr Bunney has now deleted his Instagram post.

Mr Bunney said he wanted his grandfather to move into the home so he would be closer to the family and not lonely after his wife recently died.

The landlord claimed that Prescott - who has played Ryan Connor in Corrie since 2018 - was given plenty of notice to leave.

In a now deleted Instagram post, Joe wrote: 'So I didn't want to have to do this as a landlord and it's so not me but it's embarrassing.

'I'm on holiday to find Coronation Street star Ryan Prescott (I can't tag him because he blocked me for whatever reason) and @amylythgoe have decided to squat in my house when their tenancy agreement has finished and refuse to leave.

'Let me give you some context, I have my 78 year old grandad who is ready to move into the property from today, which has took (sic) some convincing after recently losing his wife.

'We wanted him to be closer to our family so he wasn't alone and he's finally agreed and moving out of the pub he has owned for 40+ years. This is great news for us as a family.

'Only to find out that these two haven't even looked to pack up and leave and are planning on staying beyond their tenancy which isn't the agreement, and they have had plenty of notice.

'Leaving us now with nowhere else to move grandad as was set on this move!!'

The account is strongly disputed by Mr Prescott, it is understood.

MailOnline has contacted his agent and ITV for comment.

Joe is dating Lioness and Manchester United star Toone and they live in Manchester

Prescott has played Ryan Cooper in Coronation Street since 2018 and previously had stints on Emmerdale and Doctors

Mr Prescott returned to the cobbles in March to revive his role playing Ryan Connor just months after seemingly quitting the soap.

Speaking to the Daily Star that month, he said: 'Well it's been six years now, so I always said to myself I probably wouldn't do more than five, but then we had Covid and everything changed.

'It's one of those realities of life, and as I got older, you kind of realise how good you've got it. Somewhere where people care about you, people that we work with that make every day different.

He added: 'I think that's the most important thing for me, really. I'd love to go on and do different things, and I do plan to, I'm just not sure.'

The actor met Ella Toone through mutual friends and the loved-up couple are said to be living together in Manchester.

A source told The Sun last July: 'Ella and Joe are very much in love and have been together for a while now. They are both from Manchester and have mutual friends who introduced them.

'Those who know them think they are the perfect pairing. Joe is Ella's biggest cheerleader and he could not have been more proud to watch her lifting the trophy at the Euros.'

One of the storylines saw Mr Prescott's character become a victim of an acid attack

Ms Toone told The Times how she regularly goes to watch him play football where she is asked by fans for autographs.

'Whenever I go to Joe's games, the amount of lads who come over to me is mad and that is what really makes me smile.

'I stand there a lot of the time with my hood up, trying to watch, but they'll say, 'Are you Ella Toone of United? Can I have a picture?'

'Obviously, the boost for young girls who want to play football over the last year has been brilliant and we will always keep fighting for them.

'Joe's pathway was not easy. It's hard to have a professional career as a man because there are so many boys who want to play.'
