The Borat actor responded to Wilson's plans to publish what he says are "demonstrably false claims" about him in the upcoming book.

Earlier this month, the Australian star said that her book would include a chapter about "a massive a**hole" she had worked with in Hollywood.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, Wilson revealed that the person she was referring to was Baron Cohen.

The pair previously worked alongside each other on the set of his 2016 spy action comedy The Brothers of Grimsby.

In a story posted on her Instagram account this week, the actress accused his team of "trying to stop press coming out about my book."

According to US Weekly, she wrote: "But the book WILL come out, and you will all know the truth."

She said that she will "not be bullied or silenced by high-priced lawyers or PR crisis managers."

Wilson added: "The 'a**hole' I was talking about in one chapter of my book is: Sacha Baron Cohen."

A representative of Baron Cohen said in a statement: "While we appreciate the importance of speaking out, these demonstrably false claims are directly contradicted by extensive detailed evidence, including contemporaneous documents, film footage, and eyewitness accounts from those present before, during and after the production of 'The Brothers Grimsby'."

Wilson's memoir, Rebel Rising, is due to be published next month.
