Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad are willing to pay over £120million to land Mohamed Salah as they attempt to mount a huge last-minute bid for the Premier League star.
The latest offer trumps the £118m fee that the Middle Eastern mega-spenders had been readying as they try to convince the Reds to sell.
Liverpool have continued to insist that such offers for the 31-year-old will be rejected given Salah's importance to Jurgen Klopp's side and the lateness in the transfer window.
Liverpool have, however, been asking around about forwards in the market place and have already agreed a £35m deal with Bayern Munich for midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
One of the areas of concern for Liverpool is that the European transfer window closes on Friday September 1, while the Saudi market remains open until September 7.

The Reds are aware any Salah exit could derail their season and Klopp’s entire project at Anfield with the club attempting to bounce-back after a difficult previous campaign.
Liverpool would likely be unable to find a readymade replacement for Salah so late in the window with less than 24 hours remaining for Premier League sides to complete business.
Salah's status as the biggest Arab athlete in the world is fuelling Saudi Arabia's pursuit with Al-Ittihad evidently prepared to push until the final hour on Friday.
However, Liverpool are in no rush to sell given the player still has two years remaining on his existing contract.
The quoted figure would be the second-highest fee paid for a Premier League player with the biggest departure also being held by Liverpool after they sanctioned Philippe Coutinho's £145m exit for Barcelona in 2018.

Salah would be Saudi's biggest coup of the summer after already bringing Brazilian star Neymar to the nation from PSG in August.
Al-Ittihad's bargaining continues the trend of targeting Liverpool players with lucrative moves to the Middle East after several other big names quite Anfield for the riches on offer in the Kingdom.
Jordan Henderson gave up the club captaincy to join Steven Gerrard at Al-Ettifaq, while Fabinho and Roberto Firmino also secured exits.
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson and centre-back Ibrahima Konate were also the subject of interest but wanted to continue at the Premier League giants.
