As Christmas Day winds down and it's time to relax, we can now start thinking of the lovely sales to pick up a few bargains.
Whether its to pick up a quick present for that friend or family member who was forgotten, or to restock on mince pies, there are fortunately a few shops that will re-open on St. Stephen’s Day.
Below is a list of shops and supermarkets that will open their doors on Boxing Day around Galway.
If Aldi or Lidl are considered your go to’s, then you’ll will unfortunately have to look elsewhere for your groceries, as these supermarket heavyweights will remain closed on the 26th.
Luckily, Tesco Stores will be open on Stephen’s Day including branches in Galway City, Athenry, Headford, Tuam (TBC). Opening hours will vary from different stores.
Supervalu stores are run individually, however selected branches will open on Stephen's Day to make your Christmas that bit easier- select stores will open at 10am and close early at 6pm. All Dunnes Stores will, however, close nationwide on both Christmas Day and St Stephen's Day.
There will also be a number of other shops open on Stephen's Day, which could be ideal for picking up those belated presents. Popular gift grabbing outlets in Galway City such as Brown Thomas, River Island, TK Maxx and Tommy Hilfiger will all be operating the day after Christmas (opening times TBA).
The Eyre Square Shopping Centre will also be open with a number of its fan favourites opening their doors.
